ABS-CBN continues its successful pivot to digital as its entertainment group marks another digital milestone: its TikTok account has earned over one million followers and more than 18 million likes.
In August alone, its TikTok account quickly gained over 488,900 new followers and 8.8 million likes, according to the analytics firm Social Blade.
ABS-CBN Entertainment’s videos reach up to millions of views, where followers are treated to content all day such as trending highlights and teasers from the teleseryes Mars Ravelo’s Darna, 2 Good 2 Be True, A Family Affair and Love in 40 Days.
Followers can also watch a compilation of viral scenes and some of the most iconic lines from currently-airing shows, updates from the hottest showbiz news, and find out what’s new and hot on the video sharing platform with “Kapamilya TikTok of the Week.”
This latest milestone strengthens ABS-CBN’s digital presence where its ABS-CBN Entertainment’s Facebook page in the Philippines is the most followed with over 34 million followers. Meanwhile, its YouTube channel is still the most subscribed in all of Southeast Asia with over 41 million subscribers and 53.5 billion lifetime views.
Speaking of ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube’s page, it will now offer eight different kinds of love stories, titled Love Bites, featuring Dimples Romana, Miko Raval, Karina Bautista, Vivoree Esclito, Kobie Brown, Andi Abaya and many more as exclusive content for YouTube.
According to Dimples, who will appear in “Letters for Leah” with Miko, Lance Carr, and Angelica Lao, these kinds of short stories inspire viewers by leaving a mark on them. “Naiisip ko na meron kinds of love gaya nitong mga short stories na ito na it gets stuck on you and they just grow on you. Meron mga kilig at pagmamahal na ang bilis-bilis lang dumaan sa iyo pero it may have lasting effect,” she said about the concept of the series.
Sky Quizon, Nico Antonio, Genesis Redido, Angela Trajano, Kristof Garcia, Khyza Villalino and Concon Felix expressed their gratitude for being included in the boys love and girls love episodes of the anthology.
“Kami nina Kuya Nico at Genesis, we are trying to normalize it. Yes, BL is a genre but we try to normalize it na it’s just love. It’s not based on gender. Kung ano ang nai-experience ng straight people, nai-experience ng lahat,” said Sky.
Genesis, on the other hand, accepted the role in the episode as he is a proud brother to his transgender sister, Angela.
“Sobrang proud ako na gumaganap ako ng boys love dahil natutulungan ’yung kapatid ko na si Angela [Trajano]. Siya talaga ’yung rason kung bakit ko tinatanggap ito. Ito ’yung bagay na nairi-regalo ko sa kanya para ma-normalize ito o mawala ’yung diskriminasyon,” he added.
Apart from Sky, Nico and Genesis’s “He Must Choose,” Angela and Kristoff Garcia’s “Hearts of Pride,” and Khyza Villalino and Concon Felix’s “First Love, Last Love,” viewers should watch out for the first episode of Love Bites, starring Vivoree Esclito and Anthony Jennings, titled “Lost And Found.” The story revolves around Aina (Vivoree) who finds her memory box filled with items that reminds her of her past relationships.
Also, don’t miss the episodes topbilled by Karina Bautista and Gello Marquez (“One Post Away”), Andi Abaya and Kobie Brown (Miss Astrologer”), and JC Alcantara and Shanaia Gomez (“TOTGA”).
Love Bites is directed by Kevin Alambra and Dado C. Lumibao, and is part of the Made for YouTube offerings and also produced by RCD Narratives, every Friday at 8PM on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
