London park murder probe as ‘serious incident’ sparks heavy police presence

Emergency services rushed to Highbury Fields, Islington, last night after receiving reports of a stabbing. Officers found a young boy, believed to be just 15 years old, with stab wounds.

Members of the London Ambulance Service also rushed to the scene and treated the male.

He was then taken to hospital where he sadly died a short time later.

The incident took place at around 9pm.

No arrests have been made at this time.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “Enquiries are ongoing to inform next of kin.

“A crime scene has been put in place.

“There have been no arrests; enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

“Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime have been informed.
